You can make the Yubikey store a static password, which can be used for anything where you would type a password in. So, yes, you could define a static password on the Yubikey's second slot, and set that as your user password in Windows, and use the Yubikey for entering in that password from that point on.

Hey nice write-up on Yubikey. Best I have run across so far. You mentioned 2 different Yubikey passwords can be generated based on how long you hold down the Yubikey button. Can the 2nd password be used for Win 7 login? Do I need a special program to assist in marrying Yubikey with Win 7's login?

Excellent idiot proof instructions. Yet, aren't you still charged airtime / minutes regardless?

Secondly, this is only useful if you're using a WiFi connection, so when I'm out and about using my phone, it's back to using minutes, since I'm not paying for a data plan.

This does work...its 1:00am and I finally got my old -no service cell phone to make a call........ I'm still a little confused about how I got it to work but it is working...gotta retrace my steps in the morning....Don't give up if you are trying to do this....I'm not a tech savy guy. I just knew it had to work so after probably 2 days of digging all over the internet I came across this ....I followed this info pretty close and finally got what I was wanting....a phone I can call out on with no extra expense.....

@twitter-309150350:disqus , your method doesn't work for me. After I removed the original podcast from iTunes and dragged the modified (per your instructions) file into iTunes, it initially showed the modified podcast title in iTunes but then changed it to the title specified by the feed author, which I don't want. It changes the title within split second, as it is fetching the list of episodes for the new feed.

I'm not crazy about the podcast-rename.appspot.com method because it essentually funnels the feed through podcast-rename.appspot.com. If it ever goes down (as free web pages frequently do), then my feeds will go down.
